    How can such a simple thing be so good? Well, this our last idea. Churros with chocolate sauce. This simple and delicious treat is a very typical thing in Spain throughout the year, but for many Spaniards, this also has a great Christmas connotation. It is the standard breakfast after a night of celebration. On Christmas morning and New Year´s Day, in the churrerías (shops where they make churros) queues of people form waiting to take their order of fresh churros and hot chocolate sauce.

    From time to time you have to allow yourself something so rich and so full of tradition, even if it get you gain  some weigh.

    Here you have this simple recipe.

    Ingredients

    • Flour 500 g
    • Water 500 ml
    • Salt 1 tsp
    • Icing Sugar
    • Chocolate 200 g

    Method

    Churros preparation

    1. Put the flour in a  big bowl.
    2. Pour the water in a pot over high heat. Add the salt.
    3. When the water starts boiling pour it into the bowl with the flour.

    1. Mix well with the help of a spatula.
    2. When the mix it’s homogeneous, rest the dough for half an hour at room temperature.

    1. Then put the dough inside a piping bag with this kind of mouth.
    2. Make sure that you use a robust pipping bag because the dough is quite hard.

    1. Pour the oil in a pan, and put it over medium heat.
    2. You need  your oil about 170 degrees.
    3. When the oil it’s hot, pip segments of dough carefully into the oil to deep fry them.

    1. Cook them well for both side, and keep them the over absorbent paper.

    For the chocolate very easy.

    1. Put the chocolate in Bain-Marie, and let it melt.
    2. Add water or milk if you like more liquid the chocolate.
